Accessibility statement
Fundación LIRES wants everyone to be able to learn about our work, donate and verify certificates, using a keyboard, a screen reader or any device.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. In Ecuador the standard in force is NTE INEN-ISO/IEC 40500, which is equivalent to WCAG 2.0; we are aiming for a more recent version.
What we do
- A “Skip to content” link at the start of every page, page landmarks (header, navigation, main content and footer) and one main heading per page.
- The header, menu and footer can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator. The mobile menu keeps focus inside it and closes with the Esc key.
- We respect your system’s “reduce motion” setting and offer a button in the footer to turn animations off.
- We pay attention to color contrast (at least 4.5:1 for text), text alternatives for photos, and forms with written labels and error messages. We check every new page with automated tools and with a keyboard before publishing it.
Known limitations
We are redesigning the site step by step. In the meantime, some pages still have low-contrast text or elements that are hard to use with a keyboard, and some PDF documents have not been adapted yet. The text alternatives for activity photos describe the essentials, not every detail.
How to report a barrier
If you find something you cannot use, write to us at info@fundacionlires.org or on WhatsApp at 0984220678 (opens in a new tab). We will reply as soon as we can.
